A clash of monolithic rock egos occurred when Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme got ahold of Nick Cave’s band Grinderman’s ‘Mickey Mouse And The Goodbye Man’ and transformed it into a very different animal.
Resounding with echo-chamber-style madcap laughter and other sinister sound-effect wizardry, Josh’s dark and dangerous stripped-down remix will be released alongside the Grinderman original, which comes out on June 14.
According to SPIN, the collaboration came about after Josh and the band met at a diner in LA. And apparently they’re still friends, with the Grinderman members reportedly feeling “very pleased” with Josh’s efforts. Bless them. Click here to jump to the remix over on SPIN, if you dare.
