AUCTION TERMS

TERMS OF SERVICE
The auction is managed for City of Hope by Auction Cause, a premier celebrity and brand auction management agency. A bid is a legally binding contract. Please do not bid if you are not 100% certain you can promptly follow through with payment at the winning bid price if you are the winning bidder.

By participating in this auction, the bidder understands and agrees to these terms of service as well as all terms and conditions mentioned here. We reserve the right to reject any bids at our discretion and screen all bidders. No part of the text, design, photos, video, or other content from this auction or associated pages may be used without written permission of the appropriate license holders.

PREQUALIFICATION
This auction listing may be subject to prequalified bidders only – this is a security verification measure given the high profile nature of this auction. The seller reserves the right to reject requests to bid or cancel already approved bids at its sole discretion and conduct further screening of bidders, including requesting additional documentation on the ability to make payment as well as request a deposit via PayPal or credit card before being allowed to bid/continue bidding.

PARTICIPANT CODE OF CONDUCT
Participants understand they will need to behave in a reasonable and appropriate manner at all times during the experience. Violations will invalidate the experience and all participants will be asked to leave, with no refund provided. Causes for termination include but are not limited to: profanity, harassment, not following instructions of assigned escort, chaperon or security, intoxication, or other codes of conduct which are considered unreasonable at the sole discretion of the venue or artist’s representatives.

PAYMENT
All sales are final, there are no refunds. Payment is required within (5) business days of the auction close. Failure to deliver payment within the designated time will result in default of the bid and we may select the next highest bidder. Payment can be made via credit card or Paypal.

TICKETS & EXPERIENCES
Auctions for tickets and/or experiences are non-transferable upon the winning stating who will be using the tickets. Ticket brokers are not eligible to purchase experiences for resale or promotional purposes. Please note ticket location is not known by the seller, and will vary at each venue. It is expected the seats will be better than average, but actual tickets will be left at will call on the day of the show.

TAX INFORMATION
A portion of the winning bid amount made through this auction may be tax deductible. Consult with your tax adviser for more information, as we do not provide tax consulting.

SHIPPING
There will be no shipping of tickets. Tickets will be left under the winner’s name at the box office prior to the show. Proper ID will be required to pick up the tickets.

CUSTOMS
All customs duties & taxes on physical items are determined by the winning bidder’s country of residence and are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Import duties/taxes assessed by the winner’s country of residence are not known by the seller and the actual price paid by the winner will be reflected on any of the seller’s customs forms for merchandise won. This price can not be adjusted by the seller. Please factor custom duties into your bid.

LETTER OF AUTHENTICITY
An official Letter of Authenticity will be provided to the winning bidder for any physical item that is included in this auction.

By placing a bid you are registering your information with both Play For Life and Auction Cause. Any data supplied will be held according to data protection laws and not distributed to third parties. Play For Life and Auction Cause may send you by email occasional updates on other auctions, services and programmes. Q: WHO IS MANAGING THIS AUCTION?
This auction is being managed by Auction Cause, a premier cause marketing and auction management agency.

Q: WHAT IS A SEALED BID AND WHY CAN’T I SEE CURRENT HIGH BID PRICE?
A sealed bid is a bid submitted at an amount only known by the bidder and auction management agency. The high bid will be kept private until the last 10 days of the auction, at which time, the high bid will be made public, and bidders may continue to bid. It is kept private initially to keep the interest level of all bidders.

Q: WHEN DOES THIS AUCTION START & END?
The auction will start on April 8, 2011 and end on June 30, 2011.

Q: DO I NEED TO BE PREQUALIFIED TO BID?
Bidder prequalification may be necessary in order to ensure the validity and sincerity of bids. Please be prepared to answer a phone call or email to confirm your bid amount and ability to make payment.

Q: I AM THE WINNING BIDDER, WHAT DO I DO NOW?
For experience auctions, once payment has been received, the winner will be contacted to discuss preliminary fulfillment arrangements and scheduling. For all other auctions, once payment has been received, the item will be shipped promptly with tracking and insurance.

Q: I AM UNDER 18, HOW CAN I PLACE A BID?
Unfortunately, no one under 18 can place a bid as matter of policy. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian over the age of 18 may register to bid on your behalf.

Q: HOW MANY GUESTS CAN I BRING?
The winner may bring (1) guest unless the auction description indicates otherwise. At least one of the participants must be an adult. This is for the designated number of people only and it will not be possible to add additional guests.

Q: HOW LONG WILL THE EXPERIENCE LAST?
The amount of time winner will have during any experience auction (including but not limited to meet & greet opportunities, set visits, VIP tours, etc.) can only be approximated, and subject to factors beyond the seller’s control. Please note that unless the auction description states this is a private meet and greet, other fans may be present.

Q: CAN I TAKE PICTURES AND GET AN AUTOGRAPH?
The winner will have the opportunity to have a photo taken with the artist and have one item signed. The winner must bring the item to be signed (subject to reasonable limitations). Please note that the artists may have a photographer take the picture with their own camera instead of using the winner’s camera.

Q: IS THE ARTIST ABLE TO RECEIVE EMAILS THROUGH THIS AUCTION?
Unfortunately not. Auction Cause is the seller managing this auction listing and will not be answering questions directed to the artist.
